The Ladder

When the step ladder is brought out the children always want to try it. I wonder if their interest in it is because they view the ladder as an “adult tool” as well as the thrill or hesitation of climbing the ladder?

There is rich negotiation about who gets the next turn and how long each turn should take. The children come to an agreement that you can go up and down two times then your turn is over. You can't take too long standing at the top!

It can be hard to wait!
